Restylane®/ Perlane™ Manhattan
These are dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The common areas are nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth) cheek bones, hollows in the cheeks and lines round the mouth. Fillers last from 6-12 months. As we get older, we lose volume in the face, which gives a older appearance. The fillers restore that volume.
This non-surgical treatment replaces the natural collagen support under the skin. Restylane® is hyaluronic acid product does not require allergy testing. Dr. Sobel is recognized as a platinum injector by Medicis, the manufacturer of Restylane® because of the expertise in injecting Restylane®.
Radiesse™ Manhattan
Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse can be used on many areas of the body, including the lips, nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures.
Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Side effects such as swelling or bruising are minimal and should fade within a few days. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months or years, although the procedure can be repeated as often as you wish.

Sculptra™ Manhattan
Sculptra™ counteracts the loss of fat beneath the skin (a condition called lipoatrophy). Sculptra™ is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hyrdoxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. Results can last up to two years.
Cosmoderm™/Cosmoplast™ Manhattan
Most types of injectable collagen are derived from purified bovine (cow) products, which means patients must undergo skin allergy tests and wait weeks for results before you can begin treatments. Now, the remarkable new CosmoDerm™ and CosmoPlast™ soft-tissue fillers are made from human collagen similar to what is already in the body, eliminating the need for pre-treatment testing and reducing recovery time for fast, simple improvement of facial lines and wrinkles. With as little as one trip to the physician’s office, you can be on your way to enjoying a healthier, younger appearance for up to six months.
Juvéderm™ Injectable Gel Manhattan
Touted as the "next generation" of facial fillers, Juvéderm™ injectable gels gently smooth wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose and restore a youthful volume to the face. They are especially effective on smile lines and "parentheses" (nasolabial folds) that run from the bottom of the nose to the sides of the mouth.
Juvéderm™ Ultra and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus
Recently approved by the FDA, Juvéderm™ products are made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to provide volume and support to the skin. They come in three formulas optimized for the depth of the area being treated. Juvéderm™ Ultra and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus use a more advanced, cross-linked formula for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles or folds in the mid- to deep dermis.
Treatment takes only 15 minutes with immediate results and no downtime. Results typically last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.

Captique™ Manhattan
Captique™ is a new injectable filler designed to reduce wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth. Recently approved by the FDA, Captique is distributed by Inamed Aesthetics, the same company that produces Zyderm®/Zyplast®, Cosmoderm®/Cosmoplast® and Hylaform®. Like Hylaform®, Captique gel is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar that bonds with water to add volume to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is non-animal based and carries no risk of allergic reaction, so no pre-treatment skin test is necessary.
Captique works in the same way as Restylane®. The clear gel is injected beneath the skin, where it binds with water to plump up wrinkles and folds, giving the skin a smoother, younger look. Touch-up treatments every few months can maintain the effects. Your physician can answer further questions and determine whether Captique is right for you.
Silicone Manhattan
The FDA has approved medical grade injectable silicone for ophthalmic use to treat retinal detachment and, as with some other injectables, it is being used off-label for cosmetic purposes. Silikon 1000 and Adatosil 5000, when injected in "micro-droplets" are effective for treating acne scars, plumping the lips and fine lines around the lip borders. These micro-droplets will gradually build up the area in one to four treatments, spaced at least one month apart. Dr. Sobel cautions that silicone injections are not appropriate for everyone. It is extremely important to go to a dermatologist with experience micro droplet technique. Dr. Sobel has been using silicone since it's approval for off label use.
